It has been a great week. I am really loving my area. There are always problems with people, our ward has a real problem keeping priesthood holders active. There are so many people that get baptized and then fall away in a short period after. But I have some great news about Martin who we just baptized. On Sunday he was passing the sacrament! It is so cool to be able to see someone that you had the chance to help get to where they are and be able to use the priesthood. Just a great feeling to have because there are a bunch of others that are falling away.
It is so apparent that satan is attacking the family....Because there are so many that are getting torn apart and that don`t want to come back to church. There are wonderful feelings and also those of seeing people turn away from things that they know will help them, they just don`t want to go through the sacrifices to get the good. Definitely happy and sad all at the same time.
This Sunday there was a kid and his wife in the back of the chapel and she was blonde hair and blue eyed so they stuck out a bit. And as soon as we walked in they both looked over and were pointing. I knew instantly that they were not from there. Then I looked closer and the kid was wearing chacos so then I was certain that he was not from there haha. It turns out he served his mission here and he and his wife came back to visit. It was the second time he had come back since his mission in 2006 or something like that. It was really cool to just talk to someone in english. He gave us some peanut m & m´s so that was great as well. But ya just fun to be able to talk for a bit.
The week was just full of work. Not much of anything different Just trying to work hard always. Oh yes something different, the sun is just blazing down here. During the siesta when no one is outside and are all in sleeping, the hours of like 3-5, yes the hottest time of the day we just walk around and get baked haha. It is just miserable sometimes to be out in those times, but it makes you so much more thankful when you can get into a house. So ya it is heating up and will only get hotter from here on out. I don`t want ot have the heat again already, it seems like it was just here. Not enough time to cool off. It makes me thankful for being from Utah because I get lots of time to cool down from the heat. Also you aren`t outside the whole day at home in the sun so that makes a difference. But I just do not enjoy the heat right now.
But other than that it has been a great week. We are just trying to help more people get to the point of baptism. It is quite a journey but the most rewarding thing to see as a missionary when someone gets to the point of wanting to get baptized. I love it all.
